Necessity is the Mother of Invention
Like most great companies, GrowTix was born of a need. Having been in the event production business for nearly a decade, and after pulling off the first major Comic/Gaming convention in Salt Lake City, UT – John Sloan and Legrande Jolly knew that something in the event management space needed to change.
GrowTix is Born
Having spent so many years dealing with the logistical challenges of running some of the most complex event types you can manage, they were frustrated by the lack of an all-in-one, inclusive event management platform that allowed event producers to manage every aspect of their show from a single piece of software.
The endless google docs, spreadsheets, lack of information compartmentalization, scheduling tool subscriptions and logistical challenges were a nightmare.
It was time to start developing.
Leveraging their event management experience and world-class development skill, GrowTix was born. It was the first all-inclusive platform that met the logistical needs of the most professional event producers in the industry.
Soon after, it was adopted by Salt Lake FanX, and once people saw its capabilities, it started taking the whole industry by storm.
Every show that picked up their platform made the platform better. John and Legrande made it their personal mission to stay in touch with the customers they were helping and used their feedback to advance the platform right along with the industry – a trend that continues to this day.
Who We Are
The origin story of John and Legrande is important, but while they are the undisputed hive-mind of Growtix, the heart and soul is comprised of the amazing team they assembled.
These aren’t employees. These are fans of the content that their clients produce. When family or clients come to the office, they often linger, inspecting each desk and all of the memorabilia accumulated from years of supporting client events. The Rick and Morty figurines from Florida Supercon…The signed Nathan Fillion photo from SLC. Stan Lee autographs litter the office like a soldier’s medals from years of time in service.
And that’s just the comics. The music blaring from the developer offices often comes from artists whose events we supported, and more than likely events we actually attended.
The teams nights are consumed by gaming, chatting about upcoming travels and enjoying the culture and community that is built by our clients. This is a family.
To Infinity…And Beyond
While the team has grown along with our client numbers, the identity of GrowTix has stayed the same.
“Innovate, provide better service at a better value to our clients.”
It’s not a fancy mantra, but it is the standard that the team lives and breathes each day. Its the standard our clients hold us to. It’s the standard that prevents us from having to use contracts or raise our fees year after year.
Our clients choose to work with us because they saw we had something special. Our clients stay because we do the work, day in and day out, nights and weekends, to make sure their events are powered by the best platform in the world. They know we care.
So what comes next? The same dedication with unlimited options for development. We will continue to deliver industry-first features, the best customer service in the industry, and moreover, deliver that service at a better value than our competitors.
Thank-you for taking time to learn about the history of our company and who we are. We look forward to powering your event!

The GrowTix Team
I have specialized in Customer Service and Account Management for almost 10 years, coming from a large national maintenance company where I spent 4 years traveling all over the country for quality checks and customer meetings. At home, I have 2 handsome little boys (Adam, Jace) who are my world, along with a toothless cat (Joe) and a yappy mutt (Gracie). We love to hike National Parks and rock hound in our free time when hubby and I aren’t traveling.
I have an intense love for the comic industry that has been a privileged part of my life. In 2000, I started Geek’s Elixir and jumped into the comic book industry headfirst and I have not looked back. I started out by volunteering and helping creators table at comic conventions. I eventually developed relationships and began designing websites and sketchbooks while blogging about my adventures and my fascination with comics and action figures. (My collection is too large to admit!)
One of the new additions in 2017 was Justin Watt, a combat veteran and business development expert from Tucson, AZ.
While he may be a new addition to the GrowTix team as a full-time employee, he is certainly not new to the GrowTix platform. Justin was actually a part of the team that brought GrowTix to market back in 2013. A seasoned business development expert, Justin has done everything from running his own businesses to securing capital for startups and bringing them to market.
As part of the business development unit for GrowTix, he will leverage his years of experience and strategic level leadership to push GrowTix into new markets.
Justin is an avid gamer, paintball player and crypto-currency enthusiast who enjoys reminding the lone Marine in the office that the ARMY is the best branch of service, and that everybody knows B-CO 1/502 is the greatest land warfare unit of all time.
Brent Wingfield is a U.S. Army veteran and aspiring trillionaire who got his start in digital marketing in the San Diego startup scene. Brent has helped build and launch multiple, successful startups and now helps GrowTix with social media advertising, outbound sales, and search engine optimization.
